Accounts Assistant -12 month FTC
Well known manufacturing company based at Red Scar, Preston are currently looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their busy and friendly team. This is a 12 months FTC.
As the Accounts Assistant you will ensure the smooth running of all purchase ledger tasks from the processing of invoices and payments to reconciling supplier statements and prompt query resolution, with overlap into sales ledger and working closely with the Management Accountant.
Main duties will be:
Matching invoices, including checking prices charged to the current price list
Code and register all invoices without purchase order numbers to relevant nominal account, e.g. utilities and rent
Arrange for managers to authorise invoices on a weekly basis.
Undertake any filing as and where necessary
Reconcile supplier statements as and when required
Resolve account queries promptly and deal with any enquiries from suppliers and colleagues in other departments
Communicate with suppliers advising them of payment, via email and telephone.
Regular review of the accounts payable listing, allocating cash to invoices where necessary.
Pro-active in the development of internal processes and procedures and the provision of management information
Additional duties:
Provide assistance as and where necessary in other areas of the Finance department
Sort incoming daily post
To be considered for this role:
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
Ability to pick up and be involved in any aspect of the purchase ledger and other Finance functions including sales ledger, credit control and cash management.
Skilled in excel
Proficient in Word
Experience of working in FMCG is desirable
Working hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am till 5.00pm, free car parking, Healthcare after 6 month probation, staff giveaway (10 items) weekly
