The Company:

My client provides turnkey engineering projects for customers in the FMCG and Pharmaceutical sectors which compromise the design, installation and commissioning of mechanical equipment along with the associated electrical and controls systems required to automate the process.

The company employs more than 300 staff and have grown incredibly from a £25 million business five years ago to nearly a £100 million turnover today.

The business has just created a new role which will be to launch and grow the after sales and service offering the company can provide after projects have been completed.  The company is seeing a huge demand for aftersales and service packages from both existing and new companies and can see huge potential in the growth of this division in a short space of time.

The business is looking to speak to commercially minded candidates from the engineering world who have demonstrable experience in Service Management or Aftersales Management in the engineering world.

This is a fantastic opportunity to shape a new division in a rapidly growing business who invest heavily in their staff.

The Role:

When the business are currently delivering or pitching for new turnkey capital projects they are receiving consist enquiries for them to offer aftersales and service care packages for the equipment they are providing in the project.

The equipment being delivered compromises pumps, tanks, vessels, valves, heat exchangers and other bespoke mechanical equipment that process fluids for a production process.  The business also supply all the electrical equipment and software needed to control the process.

Initially there will a handful of aftersales and service packages already set up with customers for you to manage which will generate (Apply online only)K a year.  The business expects in the next five years that this division could grow to £5 million turnover with an in house team to deliver the work required.

The key responsibilities will include:

Leveraging new enquiries for aftersales and service packages with existing and historic customers.

Define requirements for aftersales and service packages required with customers.
Prepare cost proposals and presentations on the service package required.  This will require you to speak to sub contract partners for service/calibration work and to understand proposed costs for spare materials and parts.
 Presenting the proposed service package to customers.
Managing the activities of the aftersales and service packages that are currently in place.
Visiting customers to review performance on existing aftersales and service packages.
The recruitment of the aftersales and service team as the division grows.

The Person:

For this Aftersales and Service Manager role you will need:

Experience in a Service Management or Aftersales Management role within an engineering environment.
Strong organisation skills.
To be a dynamic communicator who can present effectively to new and existing customers.
To have a strong commercial nous that will see you able to cost proposals effectively.
To have experience of leading or to aspire to lead a team.
An engineering qualification.
