What you will do
We are now recruiting for an experienced BMS Project Manager to work on a fast paced, industry leading project in the North-East of England. The successful candidate for the role will be responsible for all aspects of the delivery of this project package (from design, engineering, installation & commissioning teams, commercial accountability for their workstream). This is a varied role, that will offer a different working day one to the next, working on a flagship project for the UK construction industry, working directly for the principal contractor.
How you will do it
As a Project Manager you will perform the following:
Develops and maintains relationships with customers, suppliers and vendors
Undertake a sales handover to interpret and understand the scope of works
Be responsible for the commercial performance of your project worksteam
Monitor, review and report on the progress of all projects, progress, delays and resourcing requirements to the customer, project operations leader
Drive standardisation throughout the organisation, ensuring project documentation is consistent
Engage with Supply Chain & Subcontractors, negotiating 3rd party contracts, managing project quality and commercial accounts
Provide regular reports to project leadership
Undertake risk reviews
Manage innovatively: maximise DfMA process and offsite engineering & testing strategies
Participate in project meetings
Maintains relevant professional certifications and licenses (e.g., SMSTS / First Aid at Work).
What we are looking for:
Required:
Min, 5 Year’s project management experience in the construction industry, with experience in BMS and control systems, and M&E knowledge.
Ability to manage internal & external stakeholders
Excellent verbal and written skills, ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
Microsoft Excel, Word & Project
Experience working on large projects (£3-£4M in value)
Comfortable managing a team, including the management of remote resource
Strong financial and commercial acumen
Experience of managing H&S in a construction environment
Valid CSCS / ECS card
Preferred:
Experience working within Datacentres / critical infrastructure manufacturing environments
Knowledge of any OEM BMS platform.
First Aid & IOSH Safety, Health and Environment for Construction Site Managers
Experience with different forms of contract and sub-contract.
Knowledge of Contractual procedures (e.g. the Construction Act)
