Job Description


The Royal Grammar School Worcester (RGS) family of schools is a group of leading independent schools in the Midlands, educating over 1,600 pupils aged 2 to 18 years. RGS is made up of four schools: RGS Worcester, RGS Dodderhill, RGS The Grange and RGS Springfield. The aim of the family of RGS Worcester schools is to provide an excellent all-round education for children, supporting them in their passage to adulthood by developing character, intellect, physical and emotional well-being and cultural understanding within a supportive community. ISI inspectors rated the Schools ‘Excellent’ and ‘Outstanding’ in all areas in their latest inspection.

The schools now seek a Director of Finance and Operations, responsible for the strategic financial management of all four schools as well as the internal operational services. RGS Worcester welcomes applicants with a wide range of skills and experience, however strong finance skills and the ability to use these strategically at Board level as well as within a wide operational remit are essential. Reporting to the Chair of Governors, with a dotted line to the Executive Head, the successful applicant will be a team player, comfortable navigating a complex organisation and providing commercial and business expertise to the Board and Strategy Group, comprising the Heads of the four schools and the Director of Finance and Operations. They will have excellent interpersonal skills as well as the required energy and resilience to guide the schools through their next exciting phase of development.
