We are currently recruiting Registered Nurses for an exciting opportunity to become a qualified Functional Assessor. This is an excellent opportunity to utilise your clinical knowledge and skills in a new working environment, further your career, and step away from long working days, night shifts, weekends, and bank holidays, whilst continuing to make a difference in people's lives. Recognised by the NMC / HCPC as a clinical role, so you're able to maintain your pin/registration from the comfort of your own home!

As a Functional Assessor, you will not be required to treat, advise, refer, diagnose, or rehabilitate. You will use your broad-based medical knowledge and clinical skills to carry out health assessments, assessing how disabilities and illnesses may impact on a person’s functionality in performing work-related activity. As part of the consultation process, you will compile clear and concise evidence-based reports using your findings from each assessment, which will then be submitted to assist with the decision-making process.

This is a permanent position with full-time and part-time working hours available. Standard working hours are 9:00am–5:00pm and you will not be required to work weekends, nights, or bank holidays, and no community or home visits are required. There is the option to be a Hybrid Assessor meaning you would do 3 days on-site and 2 days from home per week. *Training would need to be completed on-site first for the first 12 weeks (Part-time will be 16 weeks).

Duties & Responsibilities:

To undertake a combination of file-work and face-to-face/telephone assessments of claimants in relation to the ESA benefit, and provide a report to the DWP.
To use IT programmes to support clinical decision making when undertaking file-work and assessments.Personal Specification:

No previous Functional Assessor experience is required as training is provided. However, it is essential that any applicant is either a qualified Nurse (RGN), Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, or Doctor with a minimum of 1-year post-qualification experience.
Have an active registration with NMC/HCPC with no restrictions on practice.
Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with the general public.
Appropriate home working space that allows you to successfully complete your role.
