An exciting opportunity has arisen for committed, enthusiastic and highly motivated healthcare assistants to join ourmedical wards at Colchester Hospital. Healthcare assistants are a key part of our team and support the Registered Nurses in providing high quality care to our patients. If you like a challenge, are able to work at a very fast pace, enjoy working within a team and can give our patients the dignified care they deserve then this could be the job for you. Experience in the health care setting would be preferable, however all candidates will be considered. Training and support will be offered to all candidates including support to complete the mandatory Care Certificate over the first 12 weeks. Our Healthcare Assistant's work a rota pattern, so you MUST be able to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights and weekends including Bank Holidays for example Christmas Day. We are unable to offer set shifts patterns. Please note you may be required to undertake a Numeracy & Literacy test as part of the pre-employment checks. • To meet the direct and indirect care needs of patients under the delegation of a Registered Nurse. • To assist patients with daily activities such as feeding, showering, toileting and other personal care. • To ensure high standards of patient care at all times, in line with Trust policies and guidelines. • To work as an effective member of the nursing and wider multi-professional healthcare team.
