The role

Do you wish to have a positive impact on children from disadvantaged backgrounds? Can you offer support and guidance to young people who need extra help managing emotions & behaviour?

Vision for Education have several positions for individuals with a Mental Health Support Worker background, to work in a school in Knutsford.

We are looking for people with resilience and a strong work-ethic to support children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs.
This role would be suited to a someone who has experience or a desire of working with people with severe behavioural difficulties.
The Mental Health Support Worker role is an opportunity to play a key role in further developing the life chances of children and young people at most risk due to disadvantaged starts in life.
The school

All pupils are at KS2, KS3 or KS4 however often working at lower than expected levels for their age.
The school offers a broad curriculum based on children’s needs and interests including vocational learning.
Strong focus on helping pupils manage their emotions and behaviour in order to prepare them for learning and the world after education.

There are opportunities for the role to become a permanent position after a qualifying period is worked

Requirements

Have excellent behaviour management skills, be resilient and be able to persevere through difficult situations.
Be able to demonstrate correct behaviour and act as positive and trusted role model.
Be resilient, empathetic, patient and not take things too personally.
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for the Mental Health Support Worker position are:

Have relevant experience of working with children, young people or vulnerable adults
