What we are looking for
We are looking for a Multi-Trade Operative to join our team in Building Services.
You will share our values, commitment, and motivation to make a difference for our residents, clients, and communities.
About the role
We are looking for a member of the team who can complete a variety of trades skills.
These will include but are not restricted to, plumbing, kitchen fitting, bathroom fitting, concrete work, plastering, bricklaying, carpentry – whilst we do not expect you to be highly skilled in every area a good working knowledge of most areas would be of benefit.
We have approximately 7000 homes and the work you complete could be on tenanted or VOID properties as necessary. Work is provided on a daily basis via our tablets and you will have use of a Babergh Mid Suffolk van. Van Stock is your responsibility and this will need to be ordered via your tablet. We provide an Out of Hours service which we would also expect you to be involved with. You are paid an additional £427 per week which covers up to 4 call-outs. Anything over this number is paid as additional hours worked. On-call is usually once every 7 weeks.
About you
We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, takes pride in their work and always strives to exceed customers' expectations. Working as part of a team is essential and excellent communication skills are key to this role. IT experience for tablets and mobile phones are of benefit together with a full driving licence.
You will need:
Multi-trade experience
NVQ or City and Guilds in any such disciplines as Plumbing, Carpentry, Bricklaying etc would be an advantage
sound knowledge of construction practice and related trade technology
awareness of Health and Safety at Work Act, practice and responsibility
the ability to maintain accurate work records
the ability to diagnose and effect the most cost-effective repair solution
experience of domestic responsive property repairs
the ability to communicate well with tenants, colleagues and supervisory staff
to understand and practice good customer care.
