Product Engineer - Field Based

My client, an internationally known manufacturer of canning machinery is actively recruiting a Field Based Product Engineer to join their ranks. As the face of the company, you will be required to travel throughout the UK and Internationally.

Overall purpose of role and results expected:

1)            Provide on-site expertise and service to customers when providing commissioning, breakdown or preventative maintenance visits.
2)            Ensure that all aspects of visits are documented fully to allow appropriate follow up;
3)            When actioned as providing office cover complete this role with urgency - seeing each issue as a big deal and striving towards ending any customer pain as quickly as feasible;
4)            Spend any other time in the office wisely - further own or others knowledge of products and procedures.

Key Accountabilities:

_             To provide technical support on company products to include servicing, testing, installation, modification, user training and commissioning at any customer site.
_             To ensure that products are serviced and supported effectively, professionally and according to contract and process.
_             To contribute towards the continual development and improvement of procedures, practices and approaches for product support and service.
_             To ensure that customer issues and technical problems and enquiries are dealt with promptly and effectively ensuring high satisfaction levels at all times
_             To discuss product and service satisfaction levels are with customers on site retaining care that problems and issues are reported back and effectively actioned.
_             To help to identify product opportunities at sites visited passing leads and opportunities to the sales manager.
_             Assisting other departments in trials, tests and customer demonstrations, producing reports as appropriate.
_             To ensure strict compliance with both the company's, and all customers' health and safety policies at all times, undertaking appropriate training as and when necessary

Other Duties:

_             Maintain good and effective communication with all stakeholders, including internal colleagues, and work flexibly and positively as part of a small team within the wider workforce
_             To undertake regular personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job, encouraging and supporting other team members likewise.
_             To comply with the company's health and safety policy contributing towards risk assessments of key activities.
_             To comply with the company's equality and diversity policy and uphold company values within the team.

Key Competencies:

_             Excellent technical skills across a range of engineering disciplines
_             Effective problem solving and fault finding abilities
_             Good communication skills both internally and externally to organisation
_             Well organised and good attention to detail
Monday - Friday with occasional overtime depending upon location of work.
Starting salary £35k + Benefits + Travel Expenses (Hotel, Chauffeur Transfers, Food/Drink Allowance, Unsociable hours travel)
