The Role
An exciting opportunity has come up at Abivale Veterinary Group for a Registered Veterinary Nurse! Your general nursing duties will involve a mix of inpatient care, theatre, laboratory, diagnostic and nurse clinics.
A full time nurse will work 40 hours a week over 5 days, we are able to be flexible for someone looking for a part time position.
Our normal working weekday involves an 8 hour shift between 7.30am-7.30pm.
Weekends and bank holidays are on a rota basis with TOIL given for weekend work helping to maintain a great work life balance.
We have a dedicated night team who cover the out of hours workload of local practices on evenings and weekends. This feeds into the day team giving an exciting variety of cases!
The salary is from £24,000 up to £30,000 depending on experience.
About Us
Our well-established small animal practice has four surgeries located in South Oxfordshire; our Abingdon site is the main surgery where our dedicated night team is situated. The historic town of Abingdon, with a great range of amenities, easy commuting links to Oxford and London and is also on the doorstep of beautiful (and pet friendly) countryside.
We have a varied caseload including exotics and wildlife in addition to the normal small animal cases.
We offer all the usual "toys" including ultrasound, endoscope, digital xray, dental xray, multiparameter monitor, ECG, in house laboratory .
About the Team and Culture
We have a team of vets, registered veterinary nurses and student veterinary nurses, animal nursing assistants and receptionists along with an admin team.
We are looking for someone with a sense of humour, keen to develop their nursing skills in all areas including nurse clinics. Happy to provide support if the candidate has a particular interest they want to develop.
We are looking to start taking part in local charity and community events that we have been unable to do due to covid and feel our nursing team have an important role within this.
